When I first began this journey, I envisioned a world where two often-overlooked segments of our society—the girl child and the elderly—are empowered, supported, and valued. Our mission at Pratham Prayas Foundation is simple, yet profound: to ensure that every girl has access to the education she deserves, while also safeguarding the well-being and dignity of our elders who have paved the way for future generations.
The challenges faced by young girls in accessing education are staggering. Across the globe, millions of girls are denied their right to learn due to gender inequality, poverty, or cultural norms. Yet, the potential within every girl is immeasurable. When educated, girls can become agents of change, improving not only their own lives but the lives of their families and communities. At Pratham Prayas Foundation, we believe that investing in a girl’s education is one of the most powerful ways to uplift an entire generation.
Equally important are the elders in our society—our grandparents, parents, and community leaders—who carry the wisdom of experience and the legacy of history. Unfortunately, many elderly people are marginalized, left to face physical, emotional, and financial challenges with little support. At Pratham Prayas Foundation, we are committed to ensuring that our elders are treated with the respect and care they deserve. We believe in providing them with not only the physical support they need, but also the emotional connections that enrich their lives.
What drives us every day is the belief that these two generations—girls and elders—are interconnected. The strength of a community lies in the bonds it builds across generations. By supporting girls through education and caring for our elders, we’re creating a cycle of compassion, wisdom, and opportunity that transcends age and background.
